This Privacy Policy explains how Repeat Tutor (“we”, “our”, or “us”) handles user data when you use the Repeat Tutor mobile application.
1. Data We Collect
We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, contacts, or location.
The app processes only the data that users intentionally provide while using its features. This may include:
- text messages entered into chat
- voice audio transmitted during voice sessions
This data is transmitted only to provide the requested functionality.
We do not collect or store this content on our servers.
Certain limited technical data (such as device identifiers and attribution data) may be processed by third-party services solely for analytics and advertising attribution purposes. We do not use this data to personally identify users.
2. How User Content Is Processed
When you send a message or speak during a voice session, your text or audio is transmitted to OpenAI’s API in order to generate a response in real time.
Only the content you intentionally provide is transmitted. No additional personal data is sent unless you include it yourself in your message.
This processing is necessary for the core functionality of the app.
3. Permission and User Awareness
Before using chat or voice features, users are informed that their messages or voice input will be sent to an external AI service (OpenAI) solely for generating responses.
By using these features, users acknowledge and agree to this processing.
4. Local Storage and iCloud Sync
Chat history and related data are stored locally on the user’s device.
If iCloud is enabled on the user’s device, this data may also be stored in the user’s personal iCloud account to allow synchronization across their devices and to preserve data when the app is reinstalled. This storage is controlled by Apple and the user’s iCloud settings.
5. Analytics and Attribution
We may collect limited technical data for diagnostics, analytics, and advertising attribution purposes. This may include:
- device identifiers
- app interaction events
- performance data
- crash diagnostics
This information is used only to measure app performance, stability, and advertising effectiveness. It does not include chat or voice content and is not used by us to identify individual users.
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- OpenAI — processes user text and audio solely to generate responses.
- Apple iCloud — stores user chat data for synchronization when enabled.
- Analytics and attribution providers (such as Meta/Facebook) — may process device identifiers and attribution data to measure advertising campaign performance.
These services process data only to perform their functions and according to their respective privacy policies.
7. Data Retention
User content is stored only on the user’s device and, if enabled, in the user’s iCloud account. We do not retain copies of chat or voice data on our servers.
Analytics and attribution data may be retained in aggregated or anonymized form as required for service functionality and performance measurement.
8. User Control
Users may delete their chat history at any time within the app.
Users may also manage tracking permissions through their device settings.
